Rabbi Schnold: "Troubling Trends in the Connection between Israel and Diaspora Jewry"
The head of the Meir Harel hesder yeshiva in Modi'in, Rabbi Eliezer Schnold warned of the processes taking place in Jewish communities in the Diaspora
Head of the Meir Harel Yeshivat Hesder Rabbi Eliezer Schnold spoke at the World Assembly of Orthodox Leadership organized by the World Zionist Organization's Religious Affairs Division, who recently returned from a visit to Jewish communities in North America, Which dealt with "the geopolitical changes in the Middle East and the unification of Jerusalem - from the security aspect."
Rabbi Schnold warned of the events in Diaspora Jewry: "I must note that I identify worrisome trends that are shaping up for the future of the Jewish communities in Israel and in the Diaspora, laws that are moving away from each other. The communities deal less with identity based on their connection to Israel. The youth who finally come to Israel are crowded into institutions of "Chutznikim" instead of getting involved in Israeli institutions, and learning about the experience in Israel. We must do everything to change the trend. "
